About the Lodge
West Union Lodge 43 is a prominent Masonic lodge deeply committed to serving its community and upholding the values of Freemasonry. Founded in 1820 in the historic town of West Union, Ohio, the lodge has a rich history of charitable work, community service, and support for the betterment of society.

Our History
West Union Lodge 43 was chartered on December 6th, 1820 and is the parent lodge of Masonry in Adams County. The first Master of Lodge 43 was Bro. Kincaid.
The oldest lodge in West Union and the parent Masonic lodge of Adams County, West Union Lodge No. 43 F.& A.M. received its charter granted by the Grand Lodge at Columbus, Ohio, January 15, 1820.
The charter members were: Abraham Hollingsworth, W.M.; Samuel Treat, S.W.; John Kincaid, J.W.; John Fisher, Secretary; James Ross, George Bryan, and Aaron Wilson.
For over two centuries, Lodge 43 has stood as a cornerstone of the Adams County community, carrying forward the traditions and values passed down by its founders.

When We Meet
We meet on the Second Monday of most months. All brothers are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The easiest way to find us is to head to the Adams County Fairgrounds — we are just across the street.

To become a member of the Masonic Lodge in Ohio, you must be a man who is at least 19 years old, of good character, and believe in a supreme being.
If you meet these requirements, the first step is to find a Masonic Lodge near you and express your interest in joining. You'll have the opportunity to attend a few meetings and get to know some of the members.
If you're still interested, you can fill out an application and provide references. The Lodge will review your application and then interview you. Once the members have had a chance to get to know you, they will vote on your application.
If accepted, you will be initiated into the Lodge in a ceremony full of symbolism and tradition — the beginning of a lifelong journey of brotherhood and self-improvement.
